Filipino Community in Nepal

We are blessed to meet Filipinos in Nepal! Some of them are working in INGO or multi-lateral organizations here, like the UN, ICIMOD, etc. While others are married to Nepalis. There are regular meetings organized to get together or party, or organize activities to help upgrade communities in Nepal.

One way to raise funds is a food fair and garage sale organized last Easter Sunday at the Assumption Catholic Church. We got to taste Pinoy food again like Maja Blanco, Ginataan, Siopao, etc.

In one of the events, our family had the opportunity to join in the choir that sang during the Philippine Independence Day held at the Philippine Consulate Grounds in Kathmandu.

Our children get to meet other children of Pinoy+Nepali / Indian and other nationality descent. They meet new friends as well as interact with the expat community here. In some get togethers, our daughter Samantha gets to perform with her violin too.

Here are pictures of the Food Fair, our rehearsals and the Independence Day itself.
