Previously we posted the traditional Nepali meal combo. In this post, we will show the variety of recipes we try outside in the restaurants, friends' homes or home cooking. Given different spices, vegetables and other ingredients that we are not used to have when we were in the Philippines, every meal therefore is an ADVENTURE in itself. But once in a while, we go back to our comfort food - Asian cooking for me, pasta for Sam and Issa, chicken for Abbie (as long as it is not spicy).

Tom Yum Soup with rice. Very helpful in this cold weather. Only for me because the kiddos cannot stand the spiciness. Comes with very precious 3-5 small prawns. Seafood is rare in Nepal. |
BBQ Station. Food is BBQ'ed right infront of you. |
This is how to buy local cheese. They slice it for you. We use this for pasta topping, made from cow's milk, sometimes from yak milk. |
Who moved my cheese? |
Homemade tenderloin steak (rarely) with mashed potatoes |
BBQ veggies and chicken |
Kids' favorite mushroom soup |
spaghetti bolognaise with toasted garlic bread - kids' staple |
another version of spaghetti bolognaise (Helena's version) |
Some satisfied diners |
Chicken wings with salad, requested to be not too spicy |
Nepali appetizers - kropeck, papad, nuts, spicy achaar. They serve a lot of these before the main course |
Very rare ice tea - often made from organic lemon, honey and mint |
veg pizza with cheese |
Organic ceasar salad |
